Overview
Greater-than-normal measurements may indicate:
- Addison's disease (rare)
- Congestive heart failure
- Shock
- Syndrome of inappropriate ADH secretion
Lower-than-normal measurements may indicate:
- Aldosteronism (very rare)
- Diabetes insipidus (rare)
- Excess fluid intake
- Renal tubular necrosis
- Severe pyelonephritis
