Eleutero

¿Qué es?

Eleutero (Eleutherococcus senticosus) es un arbusto leñoso a veces llamado ginseng siberiano. No es un verdadero ginseng. A veces se utiliza como adaptógeno.

El eleutero se considera a menudo un adaptógeno. Los adaptógenos son una clase de sustancias que se cree que estimulan la resistencia del cuerpo a los factores estresantes físicos, ambientales y emocionales. Eleutero contiene muchas sustancias químicas que afectan el cerebro, el sistema inmunológico y ciertas hormonas.

Las personas usan eleutero para el herpes genital, la diabetes, el rendimiento deportivo, las habilidades de memoria y pensamiento, el resfriado común y muchas otras condiciones, pero no existe una buena evidencia científica que respalde la mayoría de estos usos.
