Pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection

Pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection may cause hepatic veno-occlusive disease (VOD; a serious liver disease). Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had liver problems. If you experience any of the following symptoms, yellowing of the skin or eyes, fast weight gain, dark urine, or pain or swelling in your stomach, call your doctor immediately or report to the emergency department.

Keep all appointments with your doctor and the laboratory. Your doctor will order certain tests to check your body's response to pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection.

You will be given the Medication Guide. Read the information carefully and ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.

Pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection is used for blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm (BPDCN; a rare type of blood cancer). Pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection is in a class of medications called antibody-drug conjugate. It works to stop the cancer cells from growing and causes cancer cell death.

Pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection comes as a solution (liquid) to be injected intravenously (into a vein) over 15 to 30 minutes. The pivekimab sunirine-pvzy infusion is administered by a doctor or nurse once every 3 weeks. Your doctor will determine how long you should receive pivekimab sunirine-pvzy infusion.

You should know that pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection has caused infusion related reactions. Your doctor will likely give you medications to lower the risk of this reaction before your infusion. It is important to follow all the instructions provided by your doctor. Call your doctor right away if you have any of the following symptoms: shortness of breath, flushing, chills, nausea, chest discomfort, or vomiting.

Before receiving pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection,

• tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to this medication, any part of this medication, or any other medications, foods or substances. Tell your doctor or pharmacist about the allergy and what symptoms you had.
• tell your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking or plan to take while receiving pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection. Your doctor may need to change the doses of your medications or monitor you carefully for side effects.
• tell your doctor if you have or have ever had kidney problems or asthma.
• tell your doctor if you or your partner are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. You or your partner should not become pregnant while you are receiving pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection. You may have to take a pregnancy test before starting treatment. If capable of becoming pregnant, you and your partner should use effective birth control during your treatment and for 7 months after your final dose. If your partner is capable of becoming pregnant, you and your partner should use effective birth control during treatment and for 4 months after your final dose. Talk to your doctor about what birth control would work best for you and your partner. If you or your partner become pregnant while taking pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection, call your doctor immediately. Pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection may harm the fetus.
• you should know pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection may cause fertility problems (ability to get pregnant or father a child) while on treatment. You should still use effective birth control during treatment. Talk to your doctor if you have concerns about taking this medicine.
• tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. You should not breastfeed while taking pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection.
• ask your doctor about the safe use of alcoholic beverages while you are taking pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection. Alcohol can make the side effects from pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection worse.
• do not have any vaccinations without talking to your doctor.
• you should know that pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection may decrease your ability to fight infection. Stay away from people who are sick during your treatment with pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection.

Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, continue your normal diet.

Call your doctor as soon as possible if you are unable to keep an appointment to receive pivekimab sunirine-pvzy. It is very important that you receive your treatment on schedule.

Pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

• fatigue
• difficulty sleeping
• muscle, bone, or joint pain
• bleeding
• nausea, diarrhea, constipation, heartburn
• cough
• rash
• headache
• dizziness
• decreased appetite

Some side effects can be serious. If you experience any of these symptoms, call your doctor immediately or get emergency medical treatment:  

• hives; itching; rash; swelling of the eyes, tongue, or lips
• chest pain; shortness of breath, trouble breathing or swallowing
• swelling of your ankles or legs; unusual weight gain

Pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection may cause other side effects. Call your doctor if you have any unusual problems while taking this medication.

If you experience a serious side effect, you or your doctor may send a report to the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program online (https://www.fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch) or by phone (1-800-332-1088).

In case of overdose, call the poison control helpline at 1-800-222-1222. Information is also available online at https://www.poisonhelp.org/help. If the victim has collapsed, had a seizure, has trouble breathing, or can't be awakened, immediately call emergency services at 911.

Keep all appointments with your doctor and the laboratory. Your doctor will order certain lab tests to check your body's response to pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection.

Before having any laboratory test, tell your doctor and the laboratory personnel that you are taking pivekimab sunirine-pvzy injection.

Keep a written list of all of the prescription and nonprescription (over-the-counter) medicines, vitamins, minerals, and dietary supplements you are taking. Bring this list with you each time you visit a doctor or if you are admitted to the hospital. You should carry the list with you in case of emergencies.
